More "Tiffany" Cupcakes!

I really loved making these Tiffany Cupcakes again! A previous customer of mine ordered these chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream for her boss, and they were having a farewell party for her.
She said that were giving her an actual Tiffany gift, so she thought why not have Tiffany cupcakes to go with it? :) Hope they enjoyed it!

My First Zoo Wedding Cupcakes

It really was quite a journey heading up for this wedding. And quite a journey getting in and out of the zoo but it was fun! I got to take the private buggy on my way in and out. :P
This wedding took place on Saturday over the weekend, and the couple ordered the cupcakes from me back in April. It was a dark pink and cream them, and they asked for sugee and coconut cupcakes as the flavours, and a small coconut cake for the cake cutting ceremony.

For the pink roses, I had to use food spray to darken the colour a little bit and it turned out quite pretty. For the cake, I used fresh roses to decorate the top.

Roses are one of the simplest but very beautiful way to decorate cake or cupcakes. The result is simply stunning, especially with the pairing of colours.

Skull Cupcakes!

I decided to go a bit edgy for these cupcakes. ;) I made these for my trip to Manila as well, as one of my very good friend's is in a rock band and he loves chocolate cupcakes. So I thought I'd get a bit creative so I made these skull heads.
I just cut out the shape and moulded it a bit to look like a skull head, and used an edible black writing pen to draw in the faces. I finished the look with a sprinkling of edible blue glitter onto the chocolate orange buttercream.

Baby Boy & Lego Cupcakes Official Order

I made the official order for these cuppies two weeks ago! It was so fun recreating everything all over again, and my customer ordered all the flavours that I mentioned in the previous blog.
I miscounted and forgot to make one extra lego shape, so hence one "empty" lego cupcake. I also added "Kai is 4" as that's her older son's name.

Haute Couture Cupcake!

Presenting my first.....Haute Couture Cupcake! Ok I have to admit, I got the inspiration from a website. So I thought I had to try it for myself!
It was a little hard making the large flower because of the humidity, so the petals tore a little easier then usual when I was thinning them out. I made them a week in advance so they could dry properly. However I'm in need to fix the air con in my room so the temperature will be a little better for making the flowers.
I actually made 6 of these cupcakes for a girl's weekend in Manila 2 weeks ago. I used lemon cupcakes with lemon buttercream as a flavour, and the decorated one side of the cupcake with silver beads, black pearls and white pearls. All edible of course. Then the flower to finish.
Unfortunately, after hours on the plane and day before the girl's dinner, the weight of the flowers kinda flattened the cream. However I also put it down to the fact that my friends didn't keep the cupcakes in a cool enough area so the cream sorta melted.
But I'm glad I managed to take a picture of the finished pretty product! I hope someone orders this soon for a wedding or fancy event. :)

Sweet Pink and Green Minis

These lovely minis were made for a little office party. Flavours were lemon with vanilla buttercream, and red velvet with vanilla cream cheese frosting.

Luscious Looking Chocolate Cupcakes!

this photo can make me salivate....a perfect chocolatey swirl

delicious peanut butter fluffiness!

My customer is coming to pick these up in the evening, and I couldn't resist loading them up! It's just a simple order, 1 dozen chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream and and 1 dozen "choco nutter" cupcakes. I topped it with edible gold glitter, and crunchy chocolate balls.
Can anyone say hungry?

Last Minute Wedding Favour Cupcakes

Last weekend, I received a last minute order for these cupcake favours. Since I could manage some time in the evenings to prepare them, I went ahead with the order. :)
She ordered 48 cupcakes, 24 "Choco Nutter" and 24 "Southern Belle" for the favours, and 50 vanilla minis with vanilla buttercream for her office mates to shared.
I kept the colours natural, and used shiny silver beads and small blue flowers to dress the cupcakes. I mixed up a soft blue and champagne gold ribbon to finish off the look of the favour boxes.
U know which part took the longest? Folding the boxes, cutting and tying ribbon! But I don't mind doing coz the end look is worth it. :)

Coffee Delights!

I wanted an excuse to use my new burberry inspired cupcake wrappers! :P So I invited some friends over on Sunday afternoon for coffee cupcakes and tea!
The result? Super yums! Like having a latte in your mouth. I topped it off with crunchy chocolate balls.

Baby Boy & Lego Cupcakes!

I made these cute creations over the weekend for a tasting session. The lovely lady is having her 4 year old's birthday, and her baby boy's full moon in a couple of days, and she requested lego designs and baby boy designs.
I handmade everything myself! From the teddy bears to the lego bricks. Ok one of the bricks looks a lil crooked but I'm going to cut everything perfectly straight later tonight when I'm preparing it! I have to thank the internet for giving me the lego inspiration.
She chose red velvet, chocolate with chocolate orange buttercream, lemon with lemon buttercream and vanilla with strawberry buttercream.
Will show you the final results when I deliver everything this Thursday. :)

Introducing my Jakarta Partner....."Lealalicious" Cupcakes!

Let me introduce you to my amazing new cupcake partner in Jakarta, the cutely titled "Lealalicious"! I'm proud to say it's actually my own sister, and I'm so excited she has started to take on a cupcake venture of her own. You can view her blog at www.lealalicious.blogspot.com
Back in the day when I started this little business 2 years ago, she was always helping me out, whether it be spooning the batter, icing the cupcakes, folding boxes, cutting ribbon, washing dishes etc. You name it in baking, she helped me to do it! Even setting up the tiers at the weddings or events itself. But she took a back seat, coz this was my baby and she was happy to see it build and grow.
Fast forward 2 years later in Jakarta, she's now a proud mum to baby Leala, hence her business is named in honour of her sweetheart of a daughter. She's a full time mummy and wifey, but for the past few months she decided to try cupcakes on her own.

And I am so super proud of her! She has come up with some fantastic creations all on her own, and she's such a part of re-inspiring to become more creative all over again! She sends me photos of her cupcakes almost every day and she never ceases to amaze me with her creativity. She pays so much attention to detail, to the point of anal but that's what makes her cupcakes gorgeous in taste and look!
Coincidentally enough, the taste of her cupcakes are just like mine! Whenever I passed her recipes, she'd try and her family members who have tried mine before, say oh wow it's just like Choy's! Well we are twins, so I guess in runs in the blood. :)
So if ever any of you are in Jakarta, or know of friends in Jakarta who are getting married, having a baby, throwing a party etc, please recommend her to them. I guarantee you she won't disappoint.
This blog is in honour of my darling sis May, and I look forward to more cupcake collaborations, and to the day we start our chain of cupcake cafe's! I love you. xxx

Pink & White Sweet Treats

I delivered these pink and white treats to the ladies of InfocusAsia this morning. Funnily enough, one of the girls I met there last week had met me previously at a friend's house party where she tried my cupcakes. So she requested me to make some for a little office party today.
They chose red velvet with vanilla cream cheese frosting for 2 dozen worth, and I recommended the other 1 dozen worth to be vanilla with a lovely tangy lemon buttercream. I also also pre-made the sugar flowers and ribbons 3 days before hand to give it a feminine touch. :)
