It was a Perera Affair....

The beautiful bride.... isn't she such a stunner? Gotta make note to make her part of the "Cake in a Cup" ad campaign, one day in the future!

My gorgeous and absolute best friend in the whole wide world had her marriage registry last weekend in KL. I promised her I would bake cupcakes for that, and also for her upcoming wedding in October. And I stuck to it! I had to bake the cupcakes first in Singapore as my oven in KL is quite slow, so there were two huge boxes with me in the car on our drive back home. My dad was in town so it made the transportation part easier! I made her red velvet cupcakes, and the cream cheese frosting was made when I arrived in KL. She had always liked my "berries" concept, so I recreated it for her special day but using strawberries only so it kept everything looking uniformed.

Here's to you Ranil and Kanchana Perera, may you have a long and happy life together forever! xxx

Bachelorette Party Number 2!

One of my December brides had her bachelorette a week or so ago and she requested me to make some cupcakes for her. I made similar designs for a girl's day out earlier in the year, and I thought to do it again coz the designs are cute and it's my 2nd time making them. I wanna try and master designer monograms next!

Flowers and Colours!

Hi Cake in a Cuppers! I know its been agesssssssssssssssssssss since my last blog posting and I apologise for that! So much was happening so had no time to sit and blog. I've been travelling a lot to Malaysia for some work and I've been busy trying to settle into a new place. Believe it or not, I'm on a bus right now about to arrive in Singapore so while I have some time and the wireless is working, I thought to put a couple of blog posts up!

These colourful flowerful cuppies were made a good three weeks or so ago. It was for a potential wedding and the client was open to any ideas. However, I mistook her for another client I was emailing who wanted to see designs like these. Melody these designs we're actually meant for you, so my apologies! Will email them to you soon as well. Regardless, I think the look came out quite sweet. More piccies to come!

Mint Green, Black & White Cupcakes

A client saw my black, red and white cupcakes that I did a couple of months back and she requested for a similar style but changing the red to mint green instead. I made vanilla cupcakes with alternate toppings of vanilla buttercream and mocha buttercream. My green flowers and butterflies have some green bits in it, coz on the day itself I realised I had run out of green food colouring so I used some leftover green fondant and mixed it with white fondant to get the mint green result. I gotta stock up soon!

Garden Elegance Cupcakes!

Cookies & Cream!

I had a couple that came to me requesting to bake a sample box of cupcakes using their "Garden Elegance" theme colours of honey yellow, grey and off white. They were pretty detailed about the designs they were looking for, so I did my best to make them to their specifications. And they wanted a multitude of flavours to try! They were:

  • 2 Sugee with alternate Cream Cheese Frosting and Chocolate Raspberry Ganache
  • 2 "Southern Belle"
  • 2 "Tiramisu"
  • 2 "Miss Saigon"
  • 2 Vanilla with alternate Chocolate Orange Buttercream and Cookies & Cream Buttercream (NEW!)
  • 2 Lemon with alternate Meringue Topping and White Chocolate Ganache

Thanks to them, I've discovered the wonders of Cookies and Cream! I'm gonna definitely put this on my menu.

Happy Birthday Alex!

These yummy mini cuppies were made for a picnic birthday gathering over the weekend. There were 50 of these, 25 Tiramisu and 25 Choco Nutter. I'm loving the close up shots!

Wedding @ St Francis Xavier Church

Here are the beautiful pink and chocolate cupcakes that I finally baked for my client's wedding. Remember the original sample blog entry I did a few posts back? She ended up choosing 100 cupcakes, 25 chocolate with chocolate buttercream, 25 chocolate with strawberry buttercream, 25 "Aztec Gold", and 25 Red Velvet. I arrived there around 10.30 am to set up for the lunch service in the lunch room. The background was not ideal for shots but I had to make do. Hope you enjoy the photos!

Vanilla and Chocolate Marble

What do you think?

Baby "Mini Cupcake" Party!

I made 300 of these yummy mini's for a baby's one month party recently. Her mummy and daddy ordered 100 mini vanillas, and 200 mini chocolates with alternate chocolate buttercream and chocolate ganache toppings. I finished them off with colourful sprinkles, silver dragees and iced sweet pink buttercream flowers. Cuteness!

"Guo Da Li" Sample Box!

A client came to me on email few weeks ago requesting some samples for Guo Da Li giveaways, and she showed me a picture and asked if I could recreate something similar. I did my best and this was the result. I iced a "Xi", used some silver dragees and made red fondant hearts!

P.S. Sorry J!!

Cupcake Pressies!

The same couple that ordered from me for their Goodwood Park wedding (a few blog posts back), ordered some extras from me for them to give away as presents. I did the same designs and flavours, and dressed them in these cute peep top boxes with a small ribbon and my cute Cake in a Cup stickers!
