Wedding at the Raffles

My favourite photo of the lot, really captures the "taste" of the cupcakes...

How I came about to do this wedding was unique. The bride actually lives in the UK, but she found me online! We communicated back and forth for a couple of weeks and wala! Her wedding cupcakes were born! She wanted something simple but elegant, and she was always keen on hearts from the beginning so she requested the chocolate (white and dark versions) to top the swirled frosting. Simple butter cucpakes, with alternate vanilla and chocolate frostings. I was tempted to bite in but I had to hold back! She also requested for clear boxes and loved the idea of a ribbon, as she wanted something like a gift box concept. Then we piled them up like a pyramid, it took 45 minutes of set up but was worth every second! I have to say a big thank you to Yola Chocolates in KL, Malaysia for supplying the chocolate hearts! It's run by a very good friend of mine, and the chocolates are yummy to boot! Check out www.yolachocolates.com In the meantime, look out for more blogs to come. :)

The Sweetest Treats....

Aren't they delightful?

These moist butter cupcakes with fluffy vanilla frosting looks so scrumptious I just wanna have them all to myself! Sadly that was not the case, I baked these delights for a wedding yesterday. I used a sweet pink petal colour and the yellow was just the natural colour of the butter after lots of "beating" so it fluffed up to this gorgeous pastel yellow. Sugar daisies made by me of course! ;) I'll be dreaming of these cupcakes for days to come.....

Another box full of goodies!

I don't think I'll get tired of making pretty babies like these. A box full of flavours and frostings! I had chocolate, vanilla, lemon and red velvet in there, and mixed in chocolate buttercream, vanilla buttercream, cream cheese frosting, peanut butter frosting and lemon glaze! Heaven comes pretty close to this...

Happy Engagement Jie Jie!

The "auspicious" cupcakes with the "return" gifts

Good thing's always come in 24's!

"Hong hong hei hei"

Close up!

Yesterday morning was my precious sister's engagement ceremony. It was a very happy time to signify the coming together of two families, and the upcoming marriage of my sister to her darling fiancee. The house was filled with 24 people and there were happy tears, smiles and laughs all around. I made these "Double Happiness" cupcakes for this special occasion. The base was a light chocolate with a cream cheese frosting, and a strawberry buttercream coloured a lucky red! It was my first time icing Chinese characters on a cupcake, mind you the most I know is 1,2,3 and few others! My family was impressed, they said "I didn't know you can write Chinese". My reply was "I copied from the angpau packet!" Here's to M & A, maybe you have a long and happy life together and when your babies come, I'll be there for the "One Month" celebration, but with baby booties on top instead! ;)

Birthday Cupcakes for A.D.

I had someone request these birthday cupcakes as a surprise treat for her boyfriend the other day. She wanted something with cars so I came up with chocolate cupcakes and small swirled chocolate frosting with red lettering. The little cars and flag are actually candles so it gave the desired effect. Hope you enjoyed them A.D, your girl V is really sweet!

She ordered for what she said was an office get together, but turns out it was her birthday and her colleague's! I had made another flavour which was the lemon cupcakes with vanilla buttercream but a couple of the cupcakes got squashed so not a perfect sight, only wanna put up the perfect photos. ;)
