Garden Coloured Wedding Cupcakes in KL

It was my dear friend Min Jee's wedding last weekend, and I promised her that I would make her wedding cuppies. :)
I recommended red velvet and tiramisu as the flavours, and she asked for colours of cream, yam and soft green. She wanted to just have different swirl shapes, and keep the focus on the colours.
This was my 2nd wedding in KL.

Seashell Themed Cupcakes

I made these order for a 20 10 2010 wedding. ;) They wanted a seashell theme, so I recommended using belgian chocolates in sea shell shapes for the decor. Simple but cute!
I know the box looks kinda messy, but I was putting on the white chocolate ganache while the cakes were in the box. So this will hold the cup shape and it can harden nicely.
The cake flavours were lemon and vanilla.

Bright Coloured Party Minis

A friend of friend requested mini cupcakes for a Shanghai themed party, so I got inspired by Shanghai Tang colours. Hence I used bright pink, green, blue and yellow and topped them with gold glitter. The flavour was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream.

Google and a Baby Boy!

A previous client of mine ordered these for his boss, who's expecting a baby boy. He also works at Google, so hence they requested the google colours!
They chose chocolate, vanilla, and mocha as the cake and icing flavours.

Cream and Blue 10/10/10 Mini Wedding Cuppies

These mini cuties were made for a 10/10/10 wedding. The bride wanted a mix of cream and blue, and I handmade the little mini fondant ribbons. Flavour she chose was vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream.
Did I mention the reception took place at The Flyer VIP Lounge? :)

Pink and Chocolate Birthday Cupcakes

This was a last minute order that came through, so I thought to have some fun and inject this bright pink colour. I love my new icing tip too!
Flavours were Aztec Gold and Southern Belle.

Fuschia and Gold Theme Cupcakes

I wish I had better pictures of these cupcakes, but I took them at night in my guest room which doesn't have the most flattering lighting. I made two separate orders of these cuppies for two separate days over the weekend. It was a mix of chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, and the bride wanted a fushia pink and gold theme. I blogged about the sampler box quite a number of months ago.

I didn't get to take any pictures of it on the tier, as the bride's friend came to pick up the cupcakes very early in the morning on both days, so they arranged it themselves at the venue. Although I heard the guests quite enjoyed them, so that's good for me to know! :)

Pearls, Roses and All Things Glorious

I used oyster ivory coloured sugar pearls and a peach rose

these were gum paste roses

I handmade the white flowers with sugar pearl centres

gum paste rose with handmade fondant butterfly

embossed fondant top with gum paste rose

These has to be probably the most elaborate cupcakes I've ever made. But the credit is not all mine, as the client gave me photographs from the internet of the designs she liked. So I copied some of them, and I have to admit it looks almost the same!
She chose my signature flavours which were the Dark Decadence, Southern Belle and Choco Nutter. The wedding was located at Marina Bay area, so there was a gorgeous view of the Marina Bay Sands.
Everything you see is edible! The hubby wasn't quite, but I assured him everything was made of sugar! :)

Pink Themed Cuppies and a Chocolate Cake

A lovely couple ordered these cuppies and cake for their wedding over the weekend in Nicoy Island. Chocolate is their favourite, so the cupcakes were chocolate with vanilla buttercream and the cake was good old chocolate with chocolate icing. They had a pink theme, and they were going to put pink roses on top of the cake.
They picked up the cakes last week in a big plastic box and off they went to the wedding. However, I heard a little drama ensued as the boat crew wouldn't let them carry it onboard the boat so they had to check it in. As you can imagine, that was a big no no. Apparently all the cupcakes flipped and the icing was ruined. Luckily, one of their friends managed to bring over some icing at the last minute and the chef on the island fixed everything up for them.
Oh well these things happen! :)

My 1st Malaysian Wedding @ Sime Darby Convention Hall

It was my childhood friend's wedding in KL, and she asked me to bake some mini cuppies for her cocktail reception. I made them for her a wedding gift, and just kept it simple with red and yellow swirls, topped with edible gold beads.
I made Tiramisu and Red Velvet as the flavours. And u know what, most of it was gobbled up! How lovely is that. ;)
P.S. I know half the cupcakes are gone in the photos, but I forgot to take some while setting up. So by the time I got there to attend the dinner, this was the result.

First Haute Couture Cupcakes Order

I prepared these babies last night for a pick up this morning. They looked so pretty in the morning!
However after a couple of hours, I noticed the black pearls sorta "bleeding" into the icing. So one word to myself, don't put the pearls on until the very last minute! My client was sweet and totally understanding about it.
I wanna try and do this look in a few more colours. Readers, please give me the opportunity! :)

Daddy's 70th Birthday Cupcakes!

The cupcakes with his "Shou Tao"

These cupcakes held such special meaning for me. :) It was my darling daddy's big 70th birthday two weeks ago in KL, and my sister and I went home for the weekend, and made this cupcakes for his pink and white themed party at home.
He requested chocolate cupcakes, an we paired it with a vanilla cream cheese frosting. My sister make the cake base, and I prepared the icing and the decor.
We thought a simple white circle cut out with black numbers, and a black bow tie would look quite chic for the party. Our daddy is a very simple man, so that suited him perfectly.
An added dessert to the party was the mandatory "Shou Tao", which a friend of mine so graciously arranged for me in Singapore. Yes I carried it all the way back to Malaysia, and on the bus too! ;) There were 70 pieces, including the large one and it was so yummy!
Nevertheless he was very happy with the result, and so were we! Most of the cupcakes were finished by the guests as well. Thankfully a few leftover the next day for breakfast.
Love you daddy! Looking forward to making you more cupcakes next year. :)
