Refreshing Green & White Cupcakes!

Now I must say I don't often come across brides who have green & white for their colour theme, but it does look quite striking and fresh. My client wanted to have an olive green, and I managed to find the colour. I also coloured one icing a light shade of pastel green to show her another contrast of green with white. She's looking for something that is more simple and elegant, so I decorated with gold and silver dragees and also added in some fondant flowers for another choice of decoration.

This box of samples also had quite a few flavours, and I'm proud to announce I've added a new flavour to the menu because of this client, and it's.....Sugee! Yes the traditional Portugeuse Eurasian cakes we remember our mother's and grandmother's baking or buying. It was my first attempt and I must say it came out good, well my client's mum complimented me so I was like "Phew!"! A lot of work involve but it's a flavour that I think many will come to love , and already love. I paired it with vanilla cream cheese frosting which made for a great combination. Can't wait to bake it for my family! Btw, the box of flavours contained:

  • 2 Sugee Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting
  • 2 Tiramisu
  • 2 Red Velvet
  • 2 Lemon with Vanilla Buttercream
  • 2 Vanilla with Coffee Buttercream
  • 2 Vanilla with Chocolate Buttercream

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

Pink & Chocolate Coloured Cupcakes!

I always love the combo of pink and browns, or blue and browns for a wedding theme, and this pink and chocolate coloured cupcakes were the perfect opportunity for me! This is for a potential church wedding reception, and there were quite a multitude of flavours in this 1 dozen box. They were:

  • 4 Chocolate cupcakes, 2 with strawberry buttercream, 1 with chilli chocolate buttercream and 1 with chocolate buttercream
  • 2 Tiramisu
  • 2 Red Velvet
  • 2 Vanilla cupcakes, 1 with strawberry buttercream and 1 with chocolate buttercream
  • 2 Mocha cupcakes, 1 with mocha buttercream and 1 with chocolate buttercream

Enjoy the photos!

Hearts Adore!

These "loving" cuppies were made today for a couple that's having their ROM in September. They requested for shades of pink and turqouise, and they wanted a concept involving hearts and their initials. I got inspired by a photo on the Martha Stewart, website which was having white heart cut outs made from fondant and using royal icing to ice their initials. A couple of the hearts I used cut out letter's and "glued" it to the heart. I'll be making the same design for a close friend's wedding later this year. It's a modern concept, but sweet and pretty at the same time.

Baby Ayla is such a gorgeous loving girl! Loves giving her mummy and daddy big hugs, and shares her love with others too! Such a darling! I loved baking for you sweetie pie, and for your mummy and daddy too! Hope to bake more birthday cupcakes for you in the future. Muaks! Enjoy the video. :)

Rainbow Cupcakes for Girly 1st B'day Party!

Swirls always look so delicious, fluffy goodness!

The Rainbow effect, I love how the colours blended so beautifully!

Fresh out of the oven!

I was very happy making these cupcakes! I wanted something cute and colourful for my friend's daughter's 1st birthday party, and I came across rainbow cupcakes online. So I set off recreating my very own pot of gold. ;) I had to separate the batter into 6 parts and colour them, and individually layer it one on top of the other as you can see in the pictures. A lot of work but I loved loved the result! It makes it for a conversation piece rather then just plain old neutral coloured cupcakes. The flavour was vanilla on vanilla, something enjoyed universally by all ages and I coloured the frosting a soft baby pink and topped it with coloured sprinkles. Baby Ayla loved it! You can see her photos on the next posting. Hope to make more rainbow cuppies in the future!

White & Lilac Wedding Cupcakes

Another wedding weekend in the works today, and it was a white and lilac themed church reception at the Clementi Bible Centre. I previously posted up the cupcakes I did for the bride's tasting session. The cupcakes looked elegant in their soft hues, however due to lack of a nice looking background I couldn't get the ideal tier shot but you get the picture. ;) I'm loving my new tier more and more!

Purple and White Floral Dreams

The designs above and below are what the couple is considering. Their angle and lighting of the cupcakes are way better then mine! You can even see the edible glitter more clearly on the flowers.

These sweet purple and white themed floral cupcakes were made for a tasting session the other day. I did a combo of cut out flowers, and also roses and frangipanis. I'm not sure if there is such a thing as a purple frangipani but aesthetically it looks good!

Mini Swirls & a Birthday/Farewell!

I really love these mini swirls I made a few days ago! I could just pop most of them into my mouth and chew down the delicious goodness! I baked about 100 mini's for an office/birthday/farewell party. It was for a guy so I kept the colours natural and used blue sugar sprinkles and silver beads to decorate the swirls, and used blue icing for the lettering. The flavours were my Southern Belle, Tiramisu, Lemon Cupcake with Vanilla Buttercream and Vanilla Cupcake with Chocolate Orange Buttercream.

Guo Da Li Favour Cupcakes

I made 48 of these guo da li cupcakes last weekend for a couple. Simple decoration but when you put a box, ribbon and tag together, it's quite a lovely gift! I just bought more ribbon samples so I'll post that up soon and you can see what colours I have for my gift boxes.

Lilac & White ROM

I love the tag!

I love this view from the top, at the gorgeous deliciousness of the swirls

I really liked these pretty packages I made for an ROM yesterday afternoon. The bride was from Perth, but her sister found me online and ordered from me. They requested just simple lemon cupcakes with vanilla buttercream topped with silver dragees, and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream topped with gold dragees. There were about 70 boxes, and I did alternate white and purple ribbons to match the personalised tag and of course the theme of the day. I imaged a damask style print on the cards, so I asked my designer to make them that day for me. Came out just how I wanted it to, and I'm very pleased with the results. Not just the card, but with everything! :)
