Mini Burger Cuppies!

Here are the mini burgers I posted about earlier! My friend's boss in the end wanted something bite sized so I spent the whole night making about 160 of these mini cuties! Put it this way, there was a lot of vanilla and chocolate involved, plus a whole lot of slicing and icing! Phew! I even added sesame seeds and cocktail sticks to give it a more authentic look. I helped out my girl friend at the seminar for the evening, and so many comments were "Is it edible???"! One lady I remembered looked completely flabbergasted by it, she kept flipping the box all over the place until the icing smeared all over. But oh well, these mini's are great for parties or fkids for that matter. Hope you like 'em! Please let me know your comments once again. :)

Baby Shower to be Treats!

I made these simple samples for a client who's expecting her baby girl in July! She wanted to work with colours of pink, cream and chocolate. These are one of the nicest swirls I've done! You know sometimes they don't always come perfect, but that day it was like thick blankets of ice cream just coming out of the piping bag. And I especially like the specks of red pureed strawberries in the pink buttercream. Ahhhh me wanna a cuppie now!!

Swirls and Shiny Pearls

I thought the heading rhymed well! This is a very simple, but one of my favourite looks for cupcakes. Just a delicious swirl of icing and sprinkled with shiny dragees. Makes you just wanna bite into the yummy fluffyness of the buttercream or cream cheese topping! Goodness all in one!

Burgers & Fries Anyone???

Happy weekend everyone! It's been a few weeks since my last blog and boy I've got so much to update! My laptop screen cracked so everything was black therefore I couldn't upload photos or update my blogs or do anything really, for over a week! Was busy with some things that I didn't have time to go get it fixed. Anyway it has so here I am! I had a girl friend ask me a few weeks ago if I could attempt to make cupcakes that look like hamburgers, so this was trial number 1! I was pretty happy with it for a first try, however friends advise maybe I could work a bit on the colours to make it look more realistic, other's liked it as it is, and some said they prefer their cupcakes to look like cupcakes! Oh well everyone has their opinion, but nevertheless it was so fun to make them. I got my inspiration from some American websites. Let me know your thoughts on this one, would love to hear your comments.

I ended making the order for her, as her company had an evening seminar on "Innovation". Watch this space for that one!

Official "Dessert Day in KL" Pics!

awwww...my precious Julia

Smiling away with big sis Sarah

mmmmmmmmm cupcakeeeeeeeeee (this shot had me laugh so loud!)

deliciously rich goodness

I love this shot...makes just want to scoop up the creamy layers and taste it all over again

For this decadently sweet evening, I invited my good friends Nadya & Yazeed over along with their children who are my darling goddaughters, Sarah & Julia. They have a baby sis Hanna who is 8 months and is another apple of my eye! I asked Yazeed to take photos of the desserts with his new camera and these are the results. He's got a pretty creative eye! As you can see, they love Godma's cupcakes! The shots of the girls were so lovely that I just had to put them up here, with their mummy and daddy's permission of course! Enjoy these gorgeous delights. :)

Dessert Day in KL!

My best friend rang me on a whim on Sunday, and asked if she could learn to bake from me! She's getting hitched in a few months and wanted to learn some recipes that she can make for her hubby to be. So sweet right? Since I was in KL, I thought why not make the most of my mum's spacious and much bigger kitchen (then my tiny one in Singapore). So Monday afternoon was spent starting with a girly lunch, grocery shopping and finally heading home to create our two desserts for the day; my chocolate peanut butter cupcakes and Tiramisu! Both are easy enough to make and we certainly had fun doing it! And they went down well with friends and family the same night. How can you enjoy dessert without the company of loved ones? That's what my next blog is about!

Fudgylicious Temptations!

Ok so not all of is fudgy but I thought i sounded like a good headline! This boxful of cuppies was ordered by a lady who wanted to try all my signature creations. I did promise her I'm gonna give it a go with some fondant one of these days, so watch out for that one!!

Simple Goodness

Made these cuppies for an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time. Baked my Tiramisu and Red Velvet flavours, and accented it with some leftover sugar daisies and multicoloured dragees. Blurry Iphone pic again! :P

"Double Happiness" Wedding @ Carlton Hotel

The mini pyramid of "Xi" cupcakes

Top view

Beginning of the icing process

The base is finally done!

Now on to the "xi", my hands were so sore!

Finished product!

I had a lot of fun making these cuppies. I did this design previously for sister's engagement in November of last year. A client saw it and requested for the same cupcakes for her wedding just over the Labour Day weekend. I'm still not an expert in the art of Chinese calligraphy, moreover having to translate that into cupcakes but I think I'm getting better. :P Next time , I gotta write names and famous phrases! hahaha I painstakingly iced every "xi" by hand and my hands felt the soreness for the rest of the evening, but when it comes to my art, I don't mind at all!

Cookie Time!

Yummy crunch in waiting!

Fresh out of the oven!

My lil round dough balls

Newly popped in the oven

Look at all that goodness spreading out!

This was my first time baking cookies after a good few years, but hey it turned out ok! I attempted oatmeal and raisin cookies, as my mum decided to overstock on oatmeal in my house so I had to think of a way to get rid of it. And this was the best way! They came out good but I must remember next time to bake it for a few mins less so it has a bit more softness to it. Watch this space for more cookie treats!

Girly Cupcakes for a Girl's Lunch!

Sorry for the blurriness of the shots! Once again I didn't bring my camera so all was taken on my Iphone, which you all know does not have the best pixel quality. But oh well, a friend of friend ordered these cupcakes from me for an all girl's luncheon/tea party that she was hosting at her place. A time for catch up, cuppa and cupcakes! She ordered all my signature creations and I decorated all of them differently to identify them. Here they are:

Choco Nutter - The almond brown swirls with chocolate sprinkles
Southern Belle - The pink swirls with shiny pink edible beads
Tiramisu Delight - The yellow swirls with shiny blue edible beads
Miss Saigon - The cream coloured swirls with edible silver beads
Tropical Bliss - The white fluffy meringue pieces!
Aztec Gold - The chocolate swirls with edible gold beads
Dark Decadence - The small chocolate swirls with edible silver beads

I want me some of those, NOW!
